• The Nurses and the Doctors are the Real Heroes Right Now!

I hope the nation is showing an outpour of gratitude right now toward everyone in our health care department. Our nurses and doctors are the real heroes right now. Every nurse and doctor around the world are coming together during this time of need to help out the people. While you’re complaining about being stuck inside the house, they are out risking their own lives to take care of everybody else. They are leaving their families at home and working around the clock day and night to test all of mankind. You can find them stationed at test centers in every state around the world completely covered from head to toe in a full body suit and face mask helping out tremendously. I am not sure what we would do without them during these times.

Nurses around the world are volunteering at testing centers

Kim Wolverton, an RN on the front line at St. Josephs and resident of Little Falls NJ says “The most effective way to flatten the curve of the increasing cases of COVID-19 positive patients is by staying home and washing your hands for at least 20 seconds!”

“It is time people start taking this more serious! Take the time out to educate yourself on the real information (not soundbites we get from memes, and not logic we’ve pieced together from rumors).  Use credible websites like the Center for Disease Control cdc.gov, or the World Health Organization WHO.int and local government websites.  Use your social media influence to inform others of the real risks, on what they can do to stay safe, and on what they can do to keep others safe.  Staying informed and spreading information, is the only way we’ll stop spreading infection. ” -Thomas J Louie

Italy has already tapped into the aspiring medical graduates to help supply additional staffing in general practitioners offices and at elderly homes. We are all wondering if the US will do the same. “In Italy, this year’s medical school graduates will be able to start working as fully-qualified doctors immediately, months ahead of schedule. Other countries are making sure that qualifying students are joining the workforce as soon as possible, while urging their junior colleagues to volunteer.” -CNN

To the nurses and doctors who have come together and are volunteering during this time, please stay safe. We would like to thank you for risking your own lives to save the lives of others. Everyone should have a newfound respect for nurses and doctors right now.

True! Let’s not forget about all the healthcare workers who are working tirelessly including environmental services, dietitians, rehabilitation therapy, case managers etc. The list is endless. I can say from experience we are all working as a team to save lives and save each other from increasing anxiety of the unknown.
