The best hotel in my favorite European city!
When I decided that Amsterdam was going to be an extended stop on my latest European vacation, I knew I had to choose a hotel that would reflect the charm and uniqueness of the city. From it’s luxurious amenities to its cozy suites you couldn’t ask for anything more, it truly felt like a home away from home. If you’re looking for high-end comfort you’ll find it all at the Pulitzer Amsterdam.
From the moment I walked up to the recessed panel wood doors with their bronze accents in one of the most picturesque canal settings, I knew I made the right choice. And that is the word I’d use to describe the Pulitzer, it is certainly a “choice” hotel. From the incredibly hospitable staff; making accommodations for every detail of our stay, to the charming architecture and interior design. The amazing culinary experiences in the Garden Cafe and Restaurant Jansz, and the wonderful array of meticulously designed first class rooms and suites, hopefully, the Pulitzer can be the choice for you.
The Book Collectors Suite we chose was in a word, cozy. It was the perfect retreat to kick my feet up after a day of shopping, roaming the Rijksmuseum, or a night of checking out the cities famous cafes. Quaint bookshelves lined the green walls of my suite harking back to the hotel’s namesake. Curled up between the stacked up written masterpieces adorning either side of the sitting room of my suite, looking out the picture window in front of me onto the canal, I can’t help but feel the romance of this city, and this hotel.
In a busy city like Amsterdam, you’re going to need a good night’s rest. In each room of the Pulitzer, are a selection of bedding which rivals the finest of comfort linens I’ve ever slept in. It was heavenly you’ll have to forgive me if I compare it to sleeping in the clouds. Even my Boston Terrier Jax felt right at home here. The Pulitzer’s pet-friendly staff accommodated Jax as if the reservation was in his name. King Jax enjoyed himself so much that I wonder now looking at him sleeping in his humble bed at home if he’s dreaming of being back at the Pulitzer.
You’ll never find another hotel with the charm and warm feeling, elegant yet cozy design, friendly and professional staff, centralized and convenient location as the Pulitzer Amsterdam has. It was truly a wonderful part of my trip, and I recommend the experience for anyone else. So if you’re planning a European vacation, and Amsterdam might be a choice of one of the cities you visit, then The Pulitzer better be the choice for where you’re going to stay!
